Mt. Baker
Yesterday we went on a trail up Table Mountain. It offered good views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan. The mountain with lots of snow is Mt. Baker. The Table Mountain Trail was great, but steep. The Fire and Ice Trail was a nice trail to relax on after the steep Table Mountain Trail. It was a half-mile, flat trail. I wish we could go again!!

What a beautiful view of the mountains! We have been learning more about Lewis and Clark this fall. It's amazing to think of them traveling over, around, and through similar mountain ranges.
How is your chess club going? Kaitlyn and I would like to learn how to play chess. We found a couple websites that look promising for giving us the instruction we need. Any advice?
We had our first snowfall this morning, so we took some time off from our schoolwork to play outside. It's quite early for snow on the ground. There are still many colorful leaves on the maple trees.

Hi William. I am at Aunt Amy and uncle Craig. Grandpa is deer hunting. I just read your whole blog. You are having many exciting adventures! I am amazed how much you are traveling around Seattle and how many interesting places you have visited. I would like to walk those mountain trails. Maybe the weather will make that difficult soon. We have had some snow already- Sarah was surprised. She needed her winter coat already on Oct. 12. Never needed wintercoats that early in NC.
Amy and the kids and I made applesauce- canned 21 quarts. Last Sat. Amy and Hannah and Leah and Karen and Austin and Caleb canned 36 quarts of applesauce. Getting ready for winter- just like Little House --.
Kaitlyn and Nathan are loving Chess. Kaitly bought a glass chess set. The pieces are white and clear.
Hannah is reading at 6th grade level and she is in the second grade. She loves to read with expression.
I can see you have learned to curve your fingers on the cello.
Love, Grandma S
